South by SouthWest (SXSW) is a well established music and film festival that takes place in Austin, Texas every year. Known for not being your average "festival", you won’t find massive fields filled with campers and enormous stages. Instead, the city is the set, using its own bars and local venues as the playground for festival goers.
Throughout the week, I documented the journey of SAVEMONEY, a unique artist collective based out of Chicago, just as they were stepping onto the world stage.
I used a multimedia approach to capture their time at the festival. By filming and editing a documentary as well as a photo series, I opened the door to a behind the scenes look at what its like to be a part of the group — following each other around, supporting and joining in on each others shows and exploring the eclectic city of Austin.
In addition to the video and photos, I developed a graphic that highlighted the groups participation in the festival. This graphic could then be carried out as a poster, banner and artist and press badges.
